Age limit

Sands of Ofier is strictly an 18+ event. The sole exception is babies up to 3 years of age (inclusive), who enter free of charge. The restriction is a condition of both purchasing a ticket and entering the venue. A valid ID confirming your age will be required at the gate. Anyone under 18 will be refused entry regardless of who they are with.

Dress code & costumes

Costumes are mandatory for all visitors on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday a costume is optional.

Recommended dress

  • Costumes inspired by Middle Eastern or North African historical dress (Ofieri style).
  • Historicising fantasy or medieval costumes — welcome.
  • Witcher-world costumes — welcome.

What is not permitted

  • Costumes from other licensed universes (Marvel, Star Wars, etc.).
  • Clothing bearing hateful symbols or political slogans.
  • Face masks that conceal identity. Your face must be fully visible at registration and entry.

For detailed inspiration and reference galleries, see the Costumes page.

Game rules

The con-wide game runs on an opt-in basis — you participate only if you choose to. You can play as yourself (non-larp) or as a character of your own creation. No one is required to play and no explanation is needed if you prefer not to.

Core principles

  • "Out of game" — arms crossed on the chest or the words "out of game" signal real-world communication outside the fiction. Respect this immediately.
  • Physical contact — all physical contact within the game must be agreed in advance. A costume or roleplay is not an invitation to physical contact. No contact without consent.
  • Private spaces — tent and sleeping areas are always out-of-game unless the occupants explicitly state otherwise.
  • Safety word — "STOP" or three claps ends any scene immediately for all present.

RP Rules

Let’s explain the whole-con LARP game and roleplay at The Sands of Ofier today.

Any visitor can join the game, and it is only up to them if they want to enjoy the game for the entire duration of the event, for a while, or not at all. It is also your choice if you want to join the game as a character that you create, or if you want to play as yourself. Many of you like to devote yourself to roleplay quite a lot, but not everyone finds this enjoyable, or perhaps they want to take a breather.

For these reasons, we implemented a scarf system at The Sands of Ofier. At the entrance, each of you will obtain a bracelet and a red scarf. If you wear this scarf on your costume visibly, it means you are roleplaying. This allows other players and our characters (CPs) to interact with you in roleplay. However, if you take your scarf off, it means you do not wish to participate in roleplay at the moment, and other players and CPs have to respect it and communicate with you out of character.

If someone communicates with you in character, even if you don’t have your scarf on, do not hesitate to let them know that you are not playing at the moment and ask them to communicate in a civil way. If roleplay communication does not stop after that, notify us, the organizers, of a breach of rules.

Scarves will designate our characters as well - the CPs (yellow and green). Green scarves represent the faction CPs (part of the main quest), while other CPs wear yellow scarves. The same rules apply: if a CP does not wear a scarf visibly on their costume, it means they are on a break at the moment and do not roleplay.

The organizers will have light blue scarves. Feel free to approach us with any problem you encounter at the event. We do not roleplay (unless we have a CP scarf as well). If we take our scarf off, we are on a break. Please respect it, unless there is a serious problem or an escalated situation, such as someone’s life being in danger.

Safety & weapons

The safety of all participants is our priority. All weapons are subject to inspection at the gate.

Permitted props

  • Latex, foam and wooden weapons without sharp edges — permitted after inspection.
  • Metal weapons — permitted as blunt costume props only. Drawing or displaying them is only allowed in designated areas and with an informed audience.

  • Drugs and narcotics are strictly prohibited.
  • Open fires of any kind.
  • Firearms including airsoft replicas.
  • Pyrotechnics and fireworks.
